This is a truly great idea and an even better tutorial on using scraps to make a “Jelly Roll Race Quilt”. In 40 mins, you can have a full sized quilt top completed, using this method. Using just scraps is a great option too, as Jelly Rolls are quite expensive.
So, if ya have a spare hour and are looking for something mindless and fun to do with it, I suggest ya check this out. The video is just under 12 mins long.
*How big your finished top ends up being is all dependent on just how long your starting strip is. She does give an estimate to how long hers is but, if ya want it bigger(or smaller) just adjust the starting length and then get to sewing! Enjoy this one, and most of all, HAVE FUN!!

Thanks for posting; I had to watch a second time to get her specifics; 30 strips – 2 1/2″ wide by 40″ wide fabric…..
Her finished project looked like a “throw” size, just right to have on the sofa to snuggle under or take in the car.
I know I don’t have enough of my own strips in a tone that would be complimentary, but a fabric scrap swap might work. I think it would be fun if you have a group of friends, and everyone brings ALL their 2 1/2 inch strips and does a scrap swap. Pile them all up on the table in color groups and then pick out your 30 – 40 strips you want in the color tones. I’ve suggested it to my quilt friends at church already this morning by email!
I was thinking hers looked to be about throw size as well. I love your swap idea, that sounds like so much fun! I hope it goes well for ya.
That was fun. Will use my scraps and do the same. Thanks so very much.

How could I not like this, it’s purple!
